It seems every time you turn on the TV, open a magazine or listen to the radio, someone is going on about eating healthily, exercising or vitamins. There’s loads of information out there – so much, in fact, that it’s a little overwhelming. Should you be taking this vitamin or that one? Cutting out meat/carbs/dairy altogether? Going to the gym seven days a week, six hours a day? Sure, you might live longer but what would be the point?

Still, it is good to take care of yourself, if only because people can be damn cruel. Vitamin E is a great (and fairly painless) way to do this. It’s a natural anti-oxidant, used in things like cancer prevention – and it will make your skin and eyes look fantastic. If you’re a little prone to colds and bugs, it’s a great boost to your immune system too.

Vitamin E is found in things like vegetable oils, nuts, soya beans, green leafy veg and whole meal flour. Okay, if you like that kind of thing. However, it’s very easy to take as a supplement too – natural is best although it can be quite difficult to find. In this techonology rich age however, nothing is impossible.

Have a look at holland & barrett for a whole list of supplements and information at great prices and easy delivery. You might find a way that is better for you than swallowing capsules – if, for example, you want to concentrate on your skin, why not try the vitamin E oil. It’s known for its anti-ageing properties.

However, do be cautious. Some studies have shown that taking supplements does not have the same effect as ingesting vitamins through diet – then again, these are the same people who tell us one minute that chocolate is the worst thing you can possibly eat, then the next week tells us it prevents cancer.
